Dental Emergencies

Healthy Smiles for the Whole Family

What are Dental Emergencies?

A dental emergency can wreak havoc on your day, leaving you in pain and feeling frustrated. Unfortunately, even with the best dental care and prevention possible, emergencies can still happen. We offer immediate emergency care to both new and existing patients. We are equipped to handle most emergency situations and work with patients of all ages.

Why do you need treatment for Dental Emergencies?

Failing to treat an emergency can and will cause it to get worse. Unfortunately, most dental-related issues don’t resolve themselves. This can cause a minor problem to get to the point where more aggressive and costly treatment is needed. This is why we recommend to our patients that they come in as soon as they notice there’s something wrong.

What are some of the most common Dental Emergencies?

We see a variety of different emergencies on a regular basis and are here to help improve your dental and oral health. Regardless of the issues you’re experiencing, we are here to provide the care that you need. Some of the more common emergencies we see include:

  • Toothache and severe pain
  • Infections and abscesses
  • Swelling and gum bleeding
  • Wisdom tooth pain and discomfort
  • Loose, lost or broken restorations
  • Broken or lost appliances
  • Problems with sensitivity

What can you expect with Dental Emergency treatment?

We begin the appointment by evaluating the situation and taking x-rays as needed. We then perform an exam to find the problem and to create the right type of treatment plan. Our goal is to get the problem resolved before you leave the office. If you have an active infection, we may recommend and prescribe antibiotics before any further treatment is administered. The best way to prevent an emergency in the future is to brush and floss regularly at home and to come in for routine preventative care appointments. Together, we can create a healthier and more vibrant smile without the problems that emergencies can bring.
